[SETT] I'm excited to finally announce this

Hey Reader!

Normally, you only hear from me on Tuesdays (and the occasional Friday bump if you missed a newsletter).

I'm writing to you on a Monday because I'm excited.

Over the past couple of months I've been creating something that I feel both anxious and hopeful about putting out into the world. It's called Building Intimacy: A Guide for Deeper, Stronger Relationships.

Building Intimacy is a 6-week course that offers more than I can offer here: a substantive look at the skills and obstacles that come up when we want to have more intimate relationships in our lives.

Each week focuses on one topic, covering issues like the Foundations for Intimacy, the Power of Repair, and how to have the Strength To Persist.

I also wanted the course to offer more than general observations and skills. I wanted it to be something that's tailored to you.

To do that, each week also has a series of perspective questions and prompts to help you develop clear, specific ideas and goals about how you as a unique individual can put what you're learning into practice. I'll also help you think about how you can overcome the intimacy obstacles that come up for you.

I wanted to let you all know about this before I announce it on social media or my website, and I'm going to make the 6-week course available to the Strong Enough To Talk community first, and at a reduced price. You've all supported me by signing up for this newsletter, and I'd like to return that support to you.

When I launch it to the general public, the course will cost $67. I'm going to make it available to SETT for $49.

Keep an eye out for more about this in the coming days, and feel free to get in touch with any questions.

Thank you!

Hi Reader, "You can't just go out with your friends and not tell me." Have you ever said something like this to your partner, or a family member, or a close friend? Maybe the specifics are different, but the phrasing is similar: "You have to...", or "You can't just...". Or maybe the words are different, but the underlying sentiment is similar. What you're really communicating is something like "Relationships have rules and you have to follow them." *** That way of talking isn't "wrong" or...

Hey Reader, You know how some people seem to think that if they know something, then nobody else knows it? You can probably remember somebody you've met who acts like they're the fount of all knowledge. They constantly explain things to everybody around them, even if those other people clearly have the same knowledge. Well, I have the opposite issue: instead of thinking that nobody knows what I know, I tend to think that if I know something, then of course everybody else knows it too. That's...
